As COVID-19 continues to spread across the U.S., restrictions on communities in Illinois remain in place in order to help minimize the spread of the virus and protect those most vulnerable. However, remaining at home can also bring its own challenges with being isolated.


95-year-old, Mrs. S, combats loneliness and depression during the shelter-in-place order in Northbrook by helping in the fight against COVID-19, cutting bias tape that her caregiver, Emily, brought in for her, into ties for seamstresses to sew onto masks in support of SO many hardworking healthcare workers! Mrs. S chatted with Emily, smiling as she cut the lengths, stating, “I’ve gotta call my grandson! He will be SO thrilled!! I can just hear him, ‘That’s my Nana!’ ” She LOVED having something helpful she could do.
